This, on one level, ensures that the smaller nation isn't pushed around thanks to the size and might of Goomlandia, but also serves to bring unwitting smaller nations into the Goomlandian political sphere and align the state as well as the conflict's outcome with Goomlandian interests. There are several jobs to choose from- some, like Builders and Infrastructure Engineers, build things for the nation. Others, like Miner, Farmer and Lumberjack, harvest natural resources and donate a third of it to the Goomlandian treasury. This reserve of various items allows Goomy to both have a reserve fund in case of conflict and also prevent trade with unaligned nations by simply giving the resources free of charge to his members rather than feed economic activity to his rivals. |
