Azrainiri, Barrasjkí, or Asjkí, is a Elgeis Language Family Language spoken by only one player, catpaco, in Azrainir. It is a Constructed Language (ConLang) primarily based on the North Germanic languages. It has four cases, the Nomitave, Accusative, Dative, and Genitive. It compounds most words, and does not take loan words, similar to how Icelandic creates new words instead of borrowing.

History

Azrainiri was originally writted by catpaco for fun with his friend in Highschool, and when he joined Azrainir, it happened to sound similar enough to retroactively fit it to Elgeis. It has gone through many names, as the earliest Vödkashk document cannot be found. From here it evolved into Ajske, till December 2016 when it changed to Barrajske with a subtitle called Language of the Yggdrasil (Yews). This later turned to Barrajskí.

This continued till mid-2017 when the document was renamed Proto-Barrajskí and a new document, Barrajskí was created. The entire phonology and spelling of the language changed, and it could entirely be called a new Language, or a descendent of this accidental Proto-Language. Barrasjkí went through another change into Barraskjí, which each of these name changes changed the pronunciation of the language itself. This change did not last very long, and within a month it was reverted back to Barrajskí. It kept this name until late-2017 when it changed to the current name, Barrasjkí. The basic grammar of Barrajskí remained the same from 2019-2023 when catpaco made a single cosmetic change from ü to ú (both pronounced /ʉ/).

Phonology

Azrainiri has both monophthongs and diphthongs, and consonants can be voiced or unvoiced.

Voiced consonants are very prevalent, and it does not contain many unvoiced consonants. The plosives b, and g are voiced and differ from p, t, and k. There is no voiced d, they are all a t or a ð. It differs from other "related" Elgeis conlangs by its sole use of ð with no unvoiced þ.
