Several countries have been formed which allege a national focus on commercial enterprise. Such mercantile countries usually operate one or more commercial services, and base their participation in global politics on the effects it would have upon their business. Mercantile countries which operate via publicly-traded stock are corporate countries. Mercantile countries often build storefronts in place of headquarters, tend to remain unaligned so as not to hamper business due to rivalries, and tend to be wealthier than other nations due to the focus on material wealth over other pursuits such as architecture, expansion, or statecraft.

Countries formed so far which have been designated as Mercantile Countries:

• High Upon the Mountain Banking Co., a Swiss-model banking service and general trade facilitator,
• Icedale Guild (defunct), a trading organization which created and invested in various commercial ventures such as the Tavern and the Raider Ale Co.,
• Dark Forest Investment Co. (defunct), an insurance and resource production company,
• Dinoking93 Excavation Incorporated (defunct), a publicly-traded excavation corporation.
