Goomy became a domestic figure after his resignation from the office of Leader. Quitting foreign policy meant full-time focus on the welfare and development of the city, and it prospered as a result of previously mentioned chronic building obsession. From the time Goomy resigned from office to the present day (mid-October 2020), [[Goomtown]] has over quadrupled in size and population. Understanding of his shoddy architecture skills (they being one of the reasons he dropped out of school), Goomy toured the North (especially [[Vailan]] and [[Kovska]]) to gain an understanding of architecture and be able to apply it in his own style. His earlier builds were influenced by this region; some later builds incorporated elements of HUMmian and Voidnestian style. However, all of his builds have a consistent style; almost always consisting of a strongly defined log structure with inset, often repeating panels and glass panes with some sort of accent atop the window in each panel (fence gates, fence, lanterns, iron bars, etc.) Also, rooves are always sloped 1:1; on larger rooves where this would look strange, an extra mini-floor is added to give the roof shape and character and the 1:1 ratio is repeated atop this mini-floor. Logs are Goomy's favorite building material, particuarly oak, acacia and spruce, followed closely by planks, particuarly spruce, jungle and dark oak. Goomy's main objective with the development of Goomtown is to, in his own words, "make it all alive" and create a unique vibe/culture that one can gain by visiting the city and seeing the lives of those who live there. A key aspect of this goal is being able to get endlessly lost in the city, so Goomy never finishes developing land adjacent to the city wherever he can and is often found complaining about space restraints on the northern and southern borders of Goomtown. His policy regarding the skyline is to create large, tall builds evenly spaced from one another so that they do not impede each other's view and surround said large tall builds with smaller buildings to allow all buildings to be seen (though sometime this initiative fails; for example, it's nearly impossible to see any of Cratertown from the south side of the city due to the Capitol blocking it.) Controversy within Goomlandia has arisen over his building ventures near [[Champignon]], where his attempts to modernize the area were strongly repelled by the residents who wished to maintain the rustic feel of the area. After the controversy over [[Tater Tower]], Goomy realized the intention of the residents and held off on developing the Champignon area except when given approval by the residents. He continues to develop the city in the newly acquired [[Corbeau]] swamps, constructing artificial islands to extend the space possible for building and create another unique neighborhood environment. His other current projects include the museum, the interior finishings of the [[Capitol]], the construction of a University of Goomtown (UG), and a earthbox tower-inspired replacement for the ill-fated Tater Tower. He holds the position of Mayor for life until resignation or challenge by vote from the Goomlandian people.
